The Sudbury Wolves coaching staff continues to shake-up their line-up with the absence of some key players. Veteran forwards: MICHAEL KANTOR (20), CHAD THIBODEAU (19) and rookie forward DOMINIK KAHUN (17) Remain out of the line-up. Kantor is expected to resume skating this week. Thibodeau has begun skating already as both veteran forwards are looking to return to the Wolves’ line-up within 7 – 10 days. Kahun is expected to return from the World Junior Championships on Monday, January 7th. The absence of these three impact forwards has had a negative effect on the Wolves’ depth at forward, however, the Wolves have responded well, picking-up points in 9 of their last 10 games played in December.
The Wolves are also without the services of 16-year-old defenceman CONOR CUMMINS. The Whitby native is playing for TEAM ONTARIO at the World U17 Challenge Cup in Drummondville, Quebec. CUMMINS has been earning increased icetime of late with the Wolves and is coming into his own as a reliable two-way defenceman. Conor is expected to return to the Wolves’ line-up this weekend when his team returns from Quebec. Defenceman TYLER PRONG has been called-up in Cummins’ absence and the 18-year-old rearguard has performed admirably for the Wolves since arriving on Boxing Day.
