The Sudbury Wolves moved closer to finalizing their starting roster for the 2012-13 OHL season by declaring JOEL VIENNEAU and TAYLOR DUPUIS as their starting goaltenders.   VIENNEAU, 20 has one year of OHL experience under his belt while DUPUIS, 18 will be looking to play his first season in the OHL.  The New Liskeard native played for Stratford Cullitons of the GOJHL last season.

VIENNEAU, 20, is a native of Hearst, Ontario and the Wolves acquired the big 6'3" puck-stopper in a trade with the Guelph Storm in 2010.   VIENNEAU was named CHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK last December after an outstanding performance prior to the Christmas break.  DUPUIS, 18, is a native of New Liskeard and was selected in the 10th round of the 2010 draft by the Wolves.

JOHN CHARTRAND, 19, returned to his home in Toronto to await reassignment by the Wolves. The 6'2" goaltender was acquired in June in a trade with the Belleville Bulls.

"All three goaltenders played very well in Russia and during the main training camp so it was a very difficult decision" notes Wolves' GM Blaine Smith.  "However, it was important that we make a commitment to two goaltenders to start the season for practical reasons."  Smith adds, "John performed very well for us and we are confident that he will have several quality options to consider in the short-term."

Smith added that the Wolves still have some difficult decisions to make as they look to reduce their active roster down to 24 players prior to the start of the OHL season.

The Wolves will continue their exhibition schedule this weekend when they host the Soo Greyhounds on Friday at the Sudbury Arena at 7:30.  The Wolves will close-out their pre-season schedule with a visit to St. Catherines to play the Niagara Ice Dogs on Saturday night.
