The Sudbury Wolves continue to work hard towards their first road win of the season, but it was not meant to be on Saturday night as the Pack was unable to come back and defeat the Plymouth Whalers after a couple of late goals.
The Wolves found themselves in a hole early being down 5 - 0 before JUSTIN SEFTON (MICHAEL KANTOR, NATHAN PANCEL) scored his first goal of the season midway through the third period. Third year forward, SAM SCHUTT, added another for the Wolves 3 minutes later on a powerplay, unassisted. Whalers forward, CODY PAYNE, stopped any further attempt for the Wolves comeback by scoring his second of the season only 26 seconds later, to close out the scoring. The final score was 6-2.
JOEL VIENNEAU got the start in net for the Wolves but was replaced half -way through the second period by TAYLOR DUPUIS, who saw his first regular season action.The goaltending duo combined to make 26 saves, while their goaltending counterpart, MATT MAHALAK made 27 saves for the win. Shots on goal were 29 for Sudbury and Plymouth with 32.
The Wolves will continue on the road as they travel to Windsor, Sunday September 30th to take on the Spitfires in a matinee contest. Game time is 2:05pm.
