The Sudbury Wolves began their second 3 in 3 weekend of the season on Friday night as they hosted the Kitchener Rangers. Despite a close contest, the Wolves fell to the Rangers by a final score of 3 - 1.
The teams remained scoreless after the opening period, with the Rangers being the first to jump on the scoreboard at the 21 second mark of the middle frame on a goal by Tobias Reider. The Wolves countered just after the midway point of the period with a powerplay goal from MIKE LOMAS, who was assisted by MARCUS FOLIGNO and JOSH MCFADDEN, for his 9th goal of the season.
The Rangers added two more goals in the period, and the Wolves were unable to respond before the final buzzer - giving the Rangers a win by a final score of 3 - 1.
Sudbury netminder ALAIN VALIQUETTE had a strong outing in goal making 36 saves and earning the game's second star honour.
The Wolves will travel to Belleville for a showdown with the Bulls on Saturday night. Game time is 7:05pm. The Wolves will wrap up the weekend on Sunday at the Hershey Centre to take on the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors at 2:00pm.
