Wolves Camp - Day 2

September 03, 2012

Day two of training camp featured TEAM BLUE and TEAM WHITE going head-to-head in two separate scrimmages. In game one, TEAM BLUE prevailed 6-5 in a shoot-out.  Newly acquired forward RAY HUETHER led Team Blue with two goals while rookies DOMINIK KAHUN and CONOR CUMMINS recorded singles.  Free agent forward SPENCER GREEN also scored for TEAM BLUE.

16-year-old forward TYLER PETERS was on fire for TEAM WHITE as the North Bay youngster scored four goals and assisted on the other TEAM WHITE goal scored by FRANCESCO VILARDI.  PETERS, 16, was an 11th round selection by the Wolves in the 2012 OHL draft.  PETERS is making a strong case for himself as a 16-year old signing by the Wolves.

TEAM BLUE recorded a convincing 6-1 victory over TEAM WHITE in the second game of the day.  RAY HUETHER, DOMINIK KAHUN and AUGUST JARECKI had two goals apiece for the victors.  Free agent forward CHARLIE VENEDAM had the lone goal for TEAM WHITE.   HUETHER, 18, is showing the skill that allowed the right winger to score 39 goals for Stratford Cullitons last season.  KAHUN, 17, is showing the skill that motivated the Wolves to draft the German youngster in the 2012 CHL Import draft.  JARECKI, 18, is a local invite and the speedy youngster had a solid performance on Sunday.

The players will now rest-up in preparation for the annual BLUE & WHITE GAME scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Monday morning.   The game will feature the integration of the Wolves' returning veterans and the young prospects looking to secure a spot on the Wolves team this season.   Admission to the BLUE & WHITE game is free of charge.
