The Sudbury Wolves' ROOKIE ORIENTATION CAMP will feature a number of local faces thanks to invitations that have been extended to six members of the Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves that recently captured the Central Region Major Midget Championship in Sault Ste. Marie.
Attending the May 5th & 6th SUDBURY WOLVES CAMP at the Countryside Arena will be:
Goaltender: ANDREW LEFEBVRE
Defencemen: SCOTT SIRKKA, JUSTIN LEBRETON
Forwards: CHARLIE VENEDAM, STEVEN GREEN and BRANDON LANGELLA
The local invites will also include JIMMY ROY from the NICKEL CITY MAJOR MIDGET team.
The local youngsters will be teamed up with drafted players from the 2011 and 2012 OHL Priority Selection. NICK BAPTISTE, 2011 1st round draft pick, will captain one of the Wolves' teams at Rookie Camp, while 2011 2nd round draft pick JACOB HARRIS will captain the other Wolves' team at this weekend's camp.
The Wolves will also welcome 2011 2nd round draft EVAN de HAAN who will return to Sudbury after a successful season with the Pembroke Lumber Kings. The Wolves will also welcome their drafted players in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection including 1st rounder CONOR CUMMINS and 3rd round selections FRANCESCO VILARDI and CONNOR BURGESS.
A total of 15 forwards, 11 defencemen and 6 goaltenders are expected to participate in the 2012 Wolves Rookie Camp which will be held this weekend at the Countryside Arena. On-ice sessions will be held from 3 - 5 pm on Saturday followed by a morning session on Sunday. Admission to the Rookie Camp is free of charge and 2012-13 season ticket information will be available at the Countryside Arena.
