The 2012 Sudbury Wolves Orientation Camp begins tomorrow afternoon at 3 pm at the Countryside Arena with 35 players set to participate.   The camp will run over a two day period with draft selections attending from both the 2011 and 2012 OHL Priority Selections.   A number of players have also been invited to the Orientation Camp and will also be looking to make a good first impression with the team.

Among the participants are 5 goaltenders, 12 defencemen and 18 forwards including 2011 1^st round selection NICK BAPTISTE and 2011 2^nd round selection JACOB HARRIS. The young Wolves’ leaders will ‘captain’ their respective teams this weekend.

Also attending the camp are 2011 2nd round draft pick EVAN de HAAN and 2012 1st rounder CONOR CUMMINS.   The young defencemen will be looking to make their mark on the Wolves’ coaching staff led by Head Coach TRENT CULL and assistant coach JEFF BEUKEBOOM.

 “This is the first time we have invited draft picks from two different years to our Orientation Camp so it will be a great opportunity to see how this year’s draft picks and last year’s match-up,” said Sudbury Wolves Head Coach TRENT CULL. “It is also a great way to introduce the players to the city and the Sudbury Wolves organization,” he added.

“We have a number of very good players that have been invited to our Camp” notes Wolves’ GM Blaine Smith.  “There are a number of good quality players that slip through the OHL draft process and we are fortunate that several of them including players from Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie and the Toronto area are here this weekend to participate in our camp.”

The 35 prospects have been divided into 2 teams – Team Blue and Team White - and will participate in two scrimmages over the course of the weekend, along with off-ice fitness testing. The first session will be held on Saturday from 3 – 5 pm while the Sunday scrimmage will be held from 10 am – 12 noon.   Both sessions will be held at the Countryside Arena complex.  Admission is free and the general public are welcome to attend.
